Bear Beanies are one of my go-to projects because they're super quick and simple, but the little bear ears make it a little more special than a plain beanie! And the design is gender neutral - you can change up your colors depending on who you have in mind!
Hobbii Yarn so kindly gifted me some of their Baby Snuggle Yarn, and I of course had to make some baby hats :)
This design really is so simple - you only need to know how to chain, half double crochet, and single crochet for this design. The body of the hat is a simple half-double crochet pattern, and the ears are made with single crochets. I think the soft and fuzzy texture of this yarn complements the simplicity of this pattern!
I've written the pattern in 2 different sizes: Newborn and Preemie! My hope for you is always that you will be inspired and enabled to crochet some of these beanies for a NICU near you! September is actually NICU Awareness Month, and it's amazing how much meaning a simple handmade beanie or pair of booties means to parents who have babies in the NICU.
You'll just need a 6 mm crochet hook, some Hobbii Baby Snuggle (or another chenille yarn) and a tapestry needle!
Happy crocheting!
